Palmer’s College was founded by merchant, William Palmer, in 1706. For 300 years we have served the community of Thurrock and for over 30 years we have been the designated Sixth Form College of choice for 16-19 year olds in Thurrock.
We are an open access College and welcome students of all abilities from Thurrock schools. In addition we have many students from outside the area including Basildon, Brentwood, Billericay, Hornchurch, Rainham, Wickford and East London amongst others. Partnerships with Ensignbus and First Bus have enabled the College to provide excellent and affordable bus routes from various areas.
The College is equipped with great facilities which are improved year on year and is set in beautiful grounds. Students also have access to our recently renovated Sports and Fitness Centre which is on campus, at fantastic student rates.
We are proud of our role in meeting the learning needs of its students and community. The College's growing popularity both locally and further afield along with excellent results indicate that it does this exceptionally well with superb achievement results across all courses.
The College boasts a number of accolades including the Recognition of Quality (RoQA) careers education award and the two ticks kite mark for welcoming employees with disabilities. In 2015, the English department was also awarded the The Prince's Teaching Trust award in English for the fifth year running.
We have over 1750 students enrolling studying A-levels, BTECs and Secretarial and Administration courses.
