Whilst studying at Palmer’s College you can participate in work experience or volunteering opportunities as either part of your course or independently. City and local based placements have included roles within Law Firms, Banks, Publishing Houses, Accountants, Nature Reserves, Schools, Nurseries and Care Homes to name a few.
The Employer Engagement Team can help you to find your own work experience placement or volunteering opportunity to fit around your studies which you can complete during evenings, weekends or College holiday periods. You can apply for a place on the College Voluntary Service Enrichment Course each year which provides you with the valuable opportunity to develop and enhance your skills in a variety of career focused settings or can simply be a chance to give something back to your local community through general volunteering opportunities.
All work experience and volunteering opportunities are regularly advertised through the college intranet, the weekly student newsletter and via the College Careers Facebook and Twitter pages. There is a dedicated volunteering/work experience notice board for students (opposite the entrance to the Work Experience and Volunteering Office) which is regularly updated with new and current opportunities.
If you would like any help or support with finding a work placement, volunteering opportunity or you would like to apply for a place on the Voluntary Service Course, then please call in to the Work Experience and Volunteering Office next to the cash machine where we will be happy to help you.
