Palmer’s College was delighted to welcome 7 members of staff from city law firm Taylor Wessing. The purpose of their visit was to help prepare Level 3 CILEX students for the world of work. The day began with a presentation about the law firm and the role of the legal secretary. All 27 students then rotated through a series of sessions during the morning which included an individual 15 minute interview, a Q&A session and a CV workshop, as well as a number of challenging team building activities.
A number of students will now be selected by Taylor Wessing to undertake a two week work experience placement with the law firm at their London office in New Street Square during February. Following this, 2 to 3 students will be offered a legal secretarial training contract for a period of 2 years.
Linda Jones, Employer Engagement Manager at Palmer’s College said: “This was a chance for our students to find out what it is really like to work in a large city law firm and the many different careers open to them within the field of law. We are extremely grateful to Taylor Wessing for this great opportunity and we look forward to working with them further in the future.”
