Palmer's College welcomes students with learning and physical disabilities. The College is equipped to support students with disabilities and have supported students with conditions such as Dyslexia.
In Study Plus, we offer a wide range of support from Dyslexia testing to improving examination techniques. Advice and individual help is available for any student who would like to investigate ways of improving their learning skills. Your personal tutor, or your subject teacher, can arrange for an assessment which will enable a learning plan to be produced for you. A wide range of assistive technology is also available. You can also call into the Study Plus Centre to make an appointment or discuss any issues that may be affecting your learning.
We also deal with any exam access arrangements you might need. These include: access to a word processor, a scribe, extra-time, timed tests, coloured paper etc.
Disability Statement
If there are any barriers affecting your access to Information, the Physical Environment or the Curriculum, or you have a disabling condition, then you should make an appointment with the Learning Support Manager, who will be happy to discuss ways in which we can help.
Examples of facilities provided in the past include: care assistant, learning support for dyslexia, timetable planning to ensure accessibility and avoid fatigue, rest/medical room, scribes and reader for written work, access strategies and specialist word processing provision.
If you have had assistance in your previous school please let us know. We cannot be responsible for circumstances caused by disabilities of which we have not been informed.
