Palmer’s College continues to maintain its reputation for academic excellence with its students gaining superb results for another year running.
The ‘outstanding’ College saw its A-level pass rate maintained at 97%.
68% of A-level students gained A, B or C grades whilst an incredible 40% of the College’s A-level students attained ‘high’ A*/A/B grades. This year also saw 51 students gain A* grades with one exceptional student achieving four A*s. 31 students gained either three A* grades or three A’s.
19 A- level subjects gained 100% pass rates including Biology, English, Further Mathematics, Drama and Theatre Studies, Media, Geography and Psychology.
37% of students obtained triple distinctions in their BTEC National Diploma courses, an increase of 1% from last year.
Mark Vinall, Principal of Palmer's College said: "We are delighted with the outstanding achievements of our students this year”.

He added:“Palmer’s College continues to deliver a first class experience for students as well as excellent value for money for the taxpayer. I offer my congratulations to all the students who passed and all the staff who helped make this happen."
Ex-Gable Hall student Lana Woolford, 18 attained a fantastic set of results which included all A*s in History, Physics, Maths and Further Maths and secured a place at Exeter University to read Physics. She already has an A in A-level French, which she undertook last year.
Lana from Stanford-le-Hope said: “After all the hard work I’ve put in I was hoping for good results, but nothing like this! I’m absolutely shocked.
She added: “The staff at Palmer’s have all been absolutely brilliant, and always prepared to put in a spare hour when I have needed help. I’ve really enjoyed my time here.”
