Why study Voluntary Service?

Voluntary Service gives you the opportunity to develop/enhance your skills of working with people.  Although the vast majority of placements are in education (pre-school to secondary) there are some opportunities for working with the elderly or special needs. Students interested in pursuing a career in Teaching or Health would benefit from the opportunities this course offers as it would complement their career aim.

What do I study?

You will need to make a study based on your experience within the placement setting and you will be expected to keep an accurate up-to-date record of activities undertaken.

Where does Voluntary Service take me?

This course gives you an insight into working with people and will enhance your CV when applying for a  job/university (especially if it involves dealing with people).

What do I need?


You need to have an interest in working with people and helping in the community. You will also need to be motivated and have good organisational and interpersonal skills.
