BTEC Extended Diplomas: Business

 

Why study the BTEC Extended Diploma in Business?

This is coursework based with no exams. Assessment is through practical, realistic assignments based on current business issues and events. As well as learning about business, students will also develop important transferable skills such as time management and presentation skills.

What do I study?


Students will study a total of eighteen units (four core units and fourteen specialist units). All units will be assessed through an assignment.

Core units:
• Explore Business Activity
• Investigate Business Resources
• Introduction to Marketing
• Effective People, Communications and Information

Specialist units may include:
• Introduction to Accounting
• Marketing Research
• Recruitment and Selection
• Business Ethics
• Human Resource Management
• Managing Contracts and Legislation
• Managing Teams
• Managing a Business Project/Event
• Setting up Administration Systems
• Managing Information
• E-Business and Internet Marketing

Where does the level 3 BTEC Extended Diploma in Business take me?

Students who complete the BTEC Extended Diploma in Business at Palmer's College have gone on to work for a number of well known organisations and many have alos progressed to Higher Education at some of the top universities within the UK.

What do I need?

If you are going to study a BTEC Extended Diploma in Business, the assumption is that you will have some interest in the subject, be entrepeneurial in some way, maybe even considering building your own business. A  BTEC Extended Diploma in Business will give you the basic skills and knowledge you require in areas such as Finance. Law, Economics, Management and Marketing.
