4th Gold Medal for Lottie

Palmer’s College student Lottie Thompson won her fourth consecutive gold medal at the National Finals of the 60th English Schools Diving Championships in Manchester last month.

Lottie was diving in the Senior Girls age group. She dominated the competition right from the first round and convincingly won gold with a total of 301.60 points (21 points above second place). Lottie’s back 2 and a half somersaults from the 3m springboard with a splashless entry through the water, underpinned her as a true champion for the fourth consecutive year.

Mark Vinall, Principal of Palmer’s College said: "Congratulations to golden girl Lottie on her magnificent achievement. We are enormously proud of her sporting success."

Lottie said: “I really enjoy competing against other divers and would like to take part in more international competitions and I am hoping to compete in the Commonwealth Games in Scotland in 2014.”

Committed Lottie has been diving for six years and is a member of the Southend-on-Sea Swimming Club where she trains four times a week.

Lottie, previously a pupil at Woodlands School, is currently studying A levels in French, Business, Law and Physical Education at Palmer’s College.
