Palmer’s College organised two successful Higher Education (HE) events last week encouraging 1st year students to think about university along with providing 2nd year students and their parents with valuable HE information.
The HE fair took place on 23 September and was the first HE fair that the College has held for a long time. 27 universities mainly from London and the South East attended. Also available to students were UCAS clinics and Q and A sessions. Hundreds of students were also tempted into the exhibition not only by the universities but also by the free ‘student grub’ on offer – beans, toast, noodles and pizza.
The UCAS Parent’s Evening took place on the evening of the 23 September. James Ringer from Queen Mary University and Judith Barras spoke to a packed Lecture Theatre and Lower Student Centre about the benefits of going to university and the
application process.
The aim of the evening was to involve parents in that process and to demystify what is involved. Connexions and careers staff were on hand to answer any questions.
Mark Vinall, Principal of Palmer’s College said: "I am delighted with the two HE events that took place on campus last week. They have helped hundreds of our students move closer to the university of their choice and also provided valuable HE information for parents."
