Palmer's Day One attracts 1000s

Despite the unsettled weather, over 1200 new students thoroughly enjoyed a day at Palmer's College as part of the Palmer's Day One event held on Monday 6 July 2009.

Students from partner and out of area schools attended the day, which aims to break the ice between students who will be joining the College in September as well as getting an opportunity to meet their personal tutors and class mates.

The event provides students with a taste of College Life as the day involves making their own way to College using the College's transport systems and managing their own time whilst on campus.

All students were welcomed by the Principal, who gave 10 minute presentations throughout the morning. Students also had the opporunity to attend various talks around the subjects they hope to take at Palmer's and were given tours by the College's exisiting students.

The College's Student Executive were also heavily involved and provided excellent support throughout the day. TG reps were also invaluable during the day and helped the new students settle in.
