Palmer’s College was founded by a merchant, William Palmer, in 1706. For 300 years we have served the community of Thurrock and for over thirty years we have been the Sixth Form College of choice for 16-19 year olds in Thurrock.
We are an open access College and welcome students of all abilities from Thurrock schools. In addition we have many students from outside the immediate area, from Basildon, Brentwood, Billericay, Hornchurch, Rainham and Wickford taking advanced courses. We provide an extensive College bus service from all these areas.
Palmer's College is equipped with modern facilities set in beautiful grounds where students also have access to the Palmer's Sports and Fitness Centre at fantastic student rates.
The College has always been proud of its role in meeting the learning needs of its students and community. The College's growing popularity and excellent results indicate that it does this exceptionally well with superb achievement rates across all courses.
The College boasts a number of accolades including the Recognition of Quality (RoQA) careers education award as well as retaining its Investors (IiP) in People accreditation and recently obtaining the two ticks kite mark. The College was succeeful in becoming an International Baccalaureate (IB) provider in 2008 but unfortunately had to stop offering the IB in 2011 due to Government funding cuts.
